How many Transmitters will work with my Network OWL?

Currently you can use one Transmitter per Network OWL.

Can I upgrade my existing OWL monitor to work with the Intuition System?

Yes most recent OWL Transmitters will work - please see the table below for detail

How safe is my data?

OWL Intuition is provided using a secure (SSL/TLS) connection (like Internet banking). SSL is also used between our servers and your Network OWL.

What happens if my Internet connection goes offline?

Without an Internet connection your Network OWL cannot communicate with our servers. This means that if you log into Intuition you will not be able to view live data.

What happens if my Internet connection is down for an extended period of time?

Your Network OWL is able to store the readings from your Transmitter and will automatically upload these readings when your Internet connection is restored. Typically the Network OWL can buffer up to 2 days of readings before losing any data.

How long will I be able to access my historical data?

Detailed data will be available for 4 months and historical daily data will be available for a minimum of 13 months.

Can I export my data?

You can download your data to CSV, PNG, JPEG or PDF.  If you create your required chart and then press the DOWNLOAD icon – you will be given the choice of a CSV, PNG, JPEG or PDF export. 

Can I set my own tariff?

Yes - Go to the ‘cogs’ icon on the Electricity widget and enter your tariff details. Be sure to press Save when completed.

My Network OWL is not pairing with Transmitter.

If you have a CMR 160, CMR 119 or CMR 119-101 please call our Customer Services who will assist you with pairing your Network OWL.

Can I use Intuition-e if I have Economy 7?

Yes, you need to set up your tariff details within the Electricity settings page. Press the ‘cogs’ icon, select Economy 7, fill in the details to suit your specific Economy 7 tariff . Be sure to press Save when completed.

Will my OWL Intuition support block tariffs?

This type of tariff structure is not currently supported – it will be supported in a future release, please check back.

What happens if I have a power failure? Will I need to pair to the Transmitter again? Will I lose my data?

Whilst the Network OWL is without power, you will not be able to view any live data on the Intuition web or smartphone interfaces. New data will not be logged until power is restored. You will not need to re-pair your Transmitter unless you remove the Transmitter batteries.

My broadband Internet router does not have any spare Ethernet connections that I can plug my Network OWL into. How can I increase the number of Ethernet connections available?

You can create additional Ethernet ports by purchasing a Network Switch such as the NETGEAR FS605 (around £10 - £15 online) - this provides 5 ports. You will also need an additional short Ethernet cable (Cat5 patch cable). Remove one of the existing Ethernet cables from the existing (fully loaded) router and plug this into any of the ports on your new Network Switch. Then plug the new Ethernet cable between this spare port and one of the other ports on the Network Switch. You now have 3 spare usable ports available on the Network Switch - simply plug your Network OWL into one of them. The Network Switch must be powered.

Am I able to have access to the Intuition data other than through the interfaces you provide?

Yes, live data is available on your local network. The Network OWL uses IP Multicast data packets available, that your own or third party software can receive, for your own analysis and storage as desired. Please email our Customer Support department at customer.services@theowl.com for further information.

My IT department has enabled strict security on the Internet router that my Network OWL is connected to and Intuition is not working - what can I do?

Please ask your IT department to contact our Customer Support department who can advise them which ports they need to open on the router to allow Intuition to work.

I don't have DHCP running on my network. Can you tell me how to put a fixed IP address into my Network OWL?

The Network OWL only currently works on networks with a DHCP server issuing IP addresses.

I have more than one Network OWL. Can I view more than one Network OWL in the same login?

This is not currently supported..

Can I change the currency of my interface to a different currency? e.g. Euro's or Dollars

Alternative currencies can be selected during the initial “Create Account” process. You can run through this setup again for an existing account at any time – ensure you tick the “Account Exists” checkbox.

I cannot see individual phases on the OWL Intuition platform.

You can only see individual phases if you are using the CMR180i Transmitter. If you do not have a CMR180i Transmitter you will see only amalgamated data.

Intuition-lc only comes with large sensors but my cables are small, can I still use large sensors?

Yes - your large sensors will work on small cables.

What is the NETWORK OWL ID (Mac Address)

This is the 443719….number which is on the underside of the Network OWL and also on the white box, that the Network OWL comes in.

Why do I need to put in my Postcode/location

This is to ensure that the correct weather information is shown on the OWL Intuition portal.

Can I export the graphs/data into a CSV file

Currently this option is not available

How can I make the Graphs larger

If you click on the graphs “action icon”, a double size graph will appear next to the widget

Can I save or print the information

If you want to keep a hard or soft copy of the displayed graph then use the Print or Download buttons located just above the graphs on the right.

is it possible to move/copy historic collected data from Owl USB into the intuition cloud? If yes, how can I do this?

No unfortunately the two formats are totally incompatible

My readings or  graphs are not updating on my computer or smartphone

The Intuition system is reliant upon a good internet connection. If the ADSL/broadband connection drops on the customers router then it is possible the Network OWL will stop reporting. The Network OWL should restart the connection  at midnight, however to bring it back online during the day first check that your computer has an internet connection then unplug the Ethernet connection for 5 seconds and plug it back in. The unit should start reporting within a couple of minutes. If not please contact customer services..

What happens if I have a power cut or power the Network OWL down

You will lose the daily value used for that day up to the powercut/power down. You will however still have the graphical information.

My Internet is working but my Intuition system shows as being offline in the dashboard

This can happen if the electrical contacts on the router have dust on them. We recommend that the Ethernet cable to the router is removed at both ends and inserted a number of times to clean the contacts and then finally re-seating until the connector latches. If the unit does not come back online after two minutes try remove the power for a minute and then re-apply the power. If this does not work please contact Customer services
