This year sees many exciting changes to our business, and in particular we are pleased to announce the launch of OWL® Intuition™ - our extensive new family of Internet connected home energy management products.

Intuition™ launched at Ecobuild in March and delivers what is believed to be the world’s most comprehensive suite of low cost, intelligent Home Energy Management Systems (iHEMS). Intuition™ brings together smart energy monitoring with heating and hot water control in one modular package.

Included in the pack is the Network OWL® Gateway, providing access via a standard broadband connection.

For energy monitoring applications, Intuition-e is backward compatible with the majority of the OWL® energy monitors sold worldwide since 2007. This is the entry point for customers to grow the system in line with their lifestyles and budget. Modular options / upgrades are PV Solar, 3 Phase, and Multi Zone (for multi occupancy buildings).

OWL® Intuition-h and -c offer intelligent heating and hot water control at an accessible cost, designed for simplicity of both retrofit and new build requirements. Incorporating automatic occupation and local weather sensing, the Intuition™ heating control system has demonstrated possible savings of between 15-25%, giving potential payback within 15 months on an average gas bill.

For Utilities, OWL® Intuition™ will be Smart Meter compatible at ZigBee SEP 1.1 via the OWL® Z-Smart IHD already in the market, or via a new ZigBee to IP Gateway scheduled for launch in Q3 2012. Both of these products are designed in compliance with the OFGEM IDTS specification. Real time accurate visibility of energy savings is derived from the Intuition™ system through a number of virtual IHD interfaces.

The OWL® Intuition™ family provides an expanding one stop shop for iHEMS requirements. Product will start to become generally available from May 2012 through the OWL website and will be widely available through Plumbase and other retail outlets from July 2012.
